British Ace Pilot: Douglas Bader (Hurricane)

Douglas Bader joined the RAF in 1928. He was already infamous as a daredevil flyer when he survived a serious crash in 1931 with both legs amputated. Although declared an invalid, the indomitable Bader was back flying again in six months.
